Glo de la Cruz Perfect Day

What is her perfect Saturday?

The weekend has arrived, the sun is shining, a breeze is blowing and you do not have any reason to leave the island. What do you do with your perfect da toon the Key?

Gloriosa de la Cruz, a long time Key resident, and graduate of KB Elementary tells us about her perfect Saturday with her husband Lucho as they spend a perfect day on the Key.

My perfect day is a Saturday, and it begins with daily puzzles over coffee at home. Our pooch, Guapa, soon awakens. Persistent nudges, jump-ups and grunts let us know that, yes, she is up, she is there, and she needs attention, pronto!

A delicious breakfast with a view follows at the KBYC, where we greet fellow early risers, watch the kids sail, or listen to tall tales from fishermen docking after a morning outing.

Or we stop by the Donut Gallery for a hearty breakfast and another dose of goings-on about town. Then it’s an invigorating Zumba class at Key2Dance for me, and a long beach trek for my husband.

I love to cook and eat out, big foodie that I am! In the afternoon, we’re off to the Farmer’s Market to chat with the vendors and explore their products.

We usually end the day with a delicious dinner at La Scala, where we feel pampered and at home. Or we have langoustines and steak grilled to perfection at Golden Hog. No matter where though, we again run into friends and lively conversations!
