Barbara Schwartz

What is her perfect day?

The Sun is shining, a breeze is blowing and you don’t have any reason to leave the island. What do you do with your perfect day on the key?

Grand Bay resident philanthropist, artist and tennis player extraordinaire Barbara Schwartz says “I am so fortunate that every day is different for me. I don’t have a set schedule but here on Key Biscayne, I feel I have so much to do. I have lived here for over 20 years and think of Key Biscayne as home. I can’t think of a better place to live.”

Barbara starts every day around 7. Two days begin with my trainer, Adita, for a combo workout in the gym of my building. Two or three days finds me playing tennis with my teammates from KBTA getting ready for interclub matches. Fast walking is my choice for exercise and meditation. I am training for the Fitbit Half –Marathon downtown this Sunday with some friends and my son, David

I am on the Board of KBTA Tennis Center. I am concerned about the Miami Children’s Initiative in Liberty City and involved with many projects to further their goals with the help of The Community Foundation and the Chuck Press Foundation.

I am a member of the Key Biscayne Woman’s Club and enjoy knowing the amazing ladies I have met there.

I am an artist. In my studio, I love to sculpt with clay which I have done since college days. I don’t sell my work, but have shown my pieces to raise money for charity.

I love to spend special time with my husband of 53 years and my children and grandchildren whenever possible. My secret passion is playing poker.
