For the past 25 years, the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation has sponsored the Interact Club at MAST Academy. Interact is the high school equivalent of Rotary.

Through this foundation, which acts as the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, many scholarships have been awarded.

This year three deserving students were awarded $6,500 scholarships. The honorees were awarded their certificates at a recent event led by Rotary President Patti Urban, Foundation President Ellen Blasi, Rotary coordinator Patricia Amat y Leon, student counselor, Stephanie Miles, and 15 Interact student members.

The 2019 Senior Student Scholarship recipients were: Claudia Interiano who received the Paul Kopp Memorial Scholarship for outstanding academic, community service and humanitarian achievement; and Vidor H. Lujan and Sadie Beatriz Cox who received academic scholarships.

Alexandra Vives was awarded a scholarship to attend the 2019 World Affairs Seminar at Carrol University in Wisconsin this summer. The one-week conference will be attended by over 500 students from around the world to address "The Promise and Perils of Social Media."
