June marks the start of hurricane season and a time for Floridians to stock up on qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from sales tax.
Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the 2019 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2019 and ends at 11:59p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019.
The Florida Department of Revenue issued a Tax Information Publication (TIP) that addresses the 2019 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday and posted the TIP on www.floridarevenue.com.
