GO FLY A KITE, April 6

Your fun and creative day of The Islander Kitefest 2019 will begin when you arrive at Bill Baggs Cape Florida at 8:30 am on Saturday, April 6th and find that because you are a participant in Kitefest, your admission to the park is free. Please print your Eventbrite receipt for access.

And that is only the beginning . . . One of our Kitefest staff volunteers will direct you to pavilion C13 which is next to the Lighthouse Café. You will sign in at the registration desk and receive your team food tickets to enjoy a complimentary refreshing breakfast.

At 9:30 your creativity will kick in when you are assigned a pavilion table in one of the four sponsored pavilions (FirstService Residential, Brigitte de Langeron, EWM International, and IBERIABANK), a blank white kite, and all the decoration materials you will ever hope for, including a special issue of the Islander News that you will want to use.

Also, at that time, you will be given instructions and valuable information to make your kite making day even more fun and rewarding.

From 9:30 to 11:00, you and your teammate will create your custom kite masterpiece of design as well as putting your kite together and ready for flight.

During that time, our design judges will be looking over your shoulder to determine the best and most creative designs in each category. (adult and child, teen, adults, and seniors)

At 11:00 it is out to the beach to make your kite creation FLY, and FLY, and FLY.

At 12 noon, it is back to pavilion C13 for the highlight of the morning . . . the awarding of prizes, and at the same time, you will receive your take home gift from FirstService Residential and other sponsors of the Islander Kitefest 2019, so you can continue your kite fun and creativity at home for days to come.

Finally, best of all, there will be a professional kite flying demonstration by two of South Florida’s best kite creators and designers to enjoy.

So don’t miss this fun and creative event . . . Find a friend, parent, aunt, uncle, grandfather, or grandmother and sign up today at or call 305-361-3333 to register.

Most importantly, 100% of your entry fee will be going to the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, benefiting the Key Biscayne Chief of Police Press Foundation. See you there.
