Bollywood designer

I've lived on the island for 40 years. I got married in Key Biscayne to John Greeven 37 years ago. We met in my own backyard at a party I hosted in South Miami at the time. He was just a nice gentlemen.

We are proud members of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, devoted sailors, we enjoy sailing to the Bahamas, and have a racing sailboat and a catamaran.

I am the sixth generation of Spaniards in the Philippines. My great grandfather married a native whose business was making the hemp rope that ships used. My grandfather married an American and that was one of the reasons we wanted to come to the US. We arrived here 1954.

My mother, my sister and I manufactured sports clothes and sold to Yves Saint Laurent, Norma Kamali, and Danskin, to name a few.

I also created my own bathing suit line called: SeaPearls.

The fashion business is so exciting but it involves a lot of work although when I was in the business it was so fun I couldn't wait to get up in the morning!

For the Bollywood costumes I had to adjust the creation of the saris so that the dancers could move freely. I put elastic on the waist band for the correct length for each dancer and each sari was measured individually. And I just loved working with the Enhance Fitness gals.

I love Key Biscayne and everything about it. I am now heading the Fidget Blanket program through the ASK Club, making blankets for Alzheimer's patients.
